Embassy Suites Concord Associate “Gets Hoppin’”
We rely on our associates to create memorable experiences for our guests. However, we don’t always know what may be asked of our associates to create that experience. One of our banquet setup attendants, Phillip Akers, volunteered to be the unofficial “mascot” for a recent GSK awards function by dressing up in a kangaroo costume provided by the group. The function had Australian-themed parts to it, and Phillip took it upon himself to ensure the guests had an active, hopping, mascot for their event. He greeted guests, danced around, stayed on stage as awards were presented to recipients, and even posed for pictures with the winners. Phillip definitely went above and beyond to make a difference for this group.
Embassy Suites Concord Makes Holiday Brighter
Associates took time to give back to those less fortunate this past holiday season as the Embassy Suites Concord sponsored it’s second annual Salvation Army Angel Tree. Associates selected angels from the tree and brought in gifts to be distributed by the Salvation Army throughout the local community. One associate, Deborah Nicolas, took it upon herself to collect gifts for over 6 angels on the tree. All in all, 50 angels received special gifts under their tree that they may not have otherwise had without the generosity of the staff. We look forward to continuing this tradition in 2009.
